Whoa...i'm kicking off the new Scrapomatic message board?  I feel honored...

We need more NY area tour dates in 2009...let's start this year off right!!!

I go from seeing Mike & Paul perform in a Long Island alley between a bar & municipal parking lot with SUV headlights for stage lighting in front of 10 patient rain-soaked fans (awesome show by the way) to the Conan show w/ D.T.B. in front of a national audience of millions of fans...what???...

What?... Oh so you want to talk about the state of the music business in 2008, which is in the same state as our economy.
The only difference is that it happened in the music business in 1995. The labels stopped doing artist development and the accountants took over and destroyed the entire business model, which is what they have now done to our economy.

OK, so here is 2009 and Here Comes Barack Obama & Mike Mattison to save the world...

I agree!! More New York in 2009

I agree with you whole heartedly, but my comment was hardly an attempt to take the temperature of the music economy or the 2009 political outlook...it was more of a light hearted thought designed to illustrate just how great it is to be a fan of artists who can stand toe to toe with anyone in the industry today, but at the same can "keep it real" and deliver their message to fans at the more intimate venues.  I'm not sure it gets any better than buying your musical heros a round of Red Stripes, putting your feet up on a stage side table, sitting back and enjoying some tasty deep rooted porch music.  How can the music business improve when there's only a handful of talented musicians like Scrapomatic who are willing to sacrifice the big pay day to win the hearts of would be fans?  How much longer must we endure the musical diarrhea that continues to contaminate the radio waves?  If we can all do our part as fans to get Scrapomatic's message out to more people, hopefully not much longer...
